I participated in the Commutative Algebra group at the SMALL REU in 2017 along with Chloe Avery, Caitlyn Booms, and Tim Kostolansky, and advised by Susan Loepp. We investigated the completions of noncatenary rings, which are rings with badly-behaved prime ideal structures. I continued this research my senior year in a year-long thesis project.
